This is the site of the residence of a man named Nakajima Ise, who was in charge of making mirrors for the shogunate during the Edo period. It is said that the famous Katsushika Hokusai was once the adopted son of Nakajima Ise. Katsushika Hokusai may have lived in this place as a child.
This is an Inari Shrine located near the ruins of Kira Kouzukeosuke's house, which appears in the famous story of Ronin Ako.
The detailed history of the shrine does not seem to have been left behind. In Japan, there are many small shrines like this one in towns and cities. Many of them are called Inari shrines.
