It means swimming crab.
In Japan, it is also called “Watari Gani”.
"Watari" is to go back and forth in the distance. "Gani" means crab.

There is a fish called "komai" that is caught in cold regions.
This is dried komai.

There is a method of cooking fish called “Hiraki”.
It is a cooking method in which the fish is flattened by cutting either the stomach or the back.
Flatten and dry.
You can eat it by roasting it a little.
It's hard, but when you chew it, the flavor seeps out and it's delicious.

I used to have lunch at "Binchotanya Ikoru Ginza" in Ginza 1-chome, near Kyobashi, where my company used to be.
Salted mackerel.
Grilled dried mackerel.
Is delicious!

Burdock and scallop string pilaf
